Shatter

Going over the speed limit fascinates me.

Riding the high till I have to count ten things that I see.

But I'm forever running away barefoot

Away from red strings that will never hold my weight.

And I'm not as wise as you used to be but I've tasted some sand

I'd probably rather drown than reach for anybody's hand again.

Trapped in cages I see when I look away

I’m either nothing or everything that the stars say.

The audacity to weave hope in my crown

I hope my heart finds me again when the sun goes down.

Do you think a cup shattering is louder in the silence

or in a room full of people whom you love?
